5 Favorite Quick Weekend Getaways

Baha Mar

The latest gem to hit the Bahamas is just a short flight away from the East Coast and a 15-minute drive from the airport. There are three hotels to choose from based on your style. The Rosewood for those looking to splurge and indulge in a luxury getaway. The SLS for millennials and lovers of design. And The Grand Hyatt for those who want the best rates and to be in the center of the action.

What we love most

Baha Mar has something for almost every type of traveler with a range of accommodations, restaurants and amenities. Plus a great beach!

Atelier Playa Mujeres

This resort – new to the the beaches of Playa Mujeres in 2020 – is a top pick for weekend getaways. A lot of people underrate Mexico when it has some of the best all-inclusive options on the market. The rooms are sleek and modern, with a soaking tub big enough for two humans. If you’re going with a group, have one or two friends get a swim-out suite. The swim-out suites have a shared pool, so you can all meet at the pool and enjoy together. If you’re going with your significant other, my recommendation is an Inspira Suite. These have an exclusive feel with access to a special rooftop area overlooking Playa Mujeresm, plus exclusive and elevated amenities.

What we love most

The food! You won’t leave the resort at the end of your trip feeling like you over indulged. Every dish is perfectly plated as if you were at a 5* restaurant.

One Hotel South Beach

South Beach is home to energy and action, but there is also peace found on the beach. 1 Hotel is a beautifully designed hotel in the heart of South Beach. The hotel sits beachfront and features three pools, each with a different vibe. The hotel focuses on wellness and sustainability. You’ll see these touches throughout the hotel!

What we love most

The room design. There is something about a clean, well designed room, that automatically instills peace. The rooms at 1 Hotel South Beach are spacious, with a sitting area and a balcony. Did you know that 1 Hotel is the only hotel in South Beach with an option for two king beds? Grab another couple or group of friends and split the cost!

Charleston

I love Charleston for many reasons – the food, the hotels, the sites. It’s a quick flight or road trip for most along the East Coast. I particularly love the new Hotel Bennett that opened on Marion Square, next to The Dewberry and Francis Marion. The new player to the luxury hotel game features unique touches, such as a champagne bar called Camellias. After wandering down King Street, head to the Battery and catch a breeze from the ocean. Don’t forget to stop at Brown Dog Deli for a lunch bite.

What we love most

The versatility! You can visit Charleston in both the summer and winter (and never be bored). In the summer, you’ll want to plan in a few days for beach time on Sullivan’s Island. In the winter, you can spend your afternoons shopping on King Street or enjoying a cocktail at Stars. There is plenty to do.

Lake Austin

Sometimes you need weekend getaways to reset and recalibrate. This is where Lake Austin comes in perfectly. Located just 20 miles from downtown Austin, Lake Austin Spa Resort is all-inclusive luxury with only 40 rooms. You’ll receive three fresh, locally sourced meals per day + snacks. You can then fill your days with lake activities like paddle boards and kayaks, or choose between one of the 20 daily fitness activities. And then of course, end your day in the spa for some r & r.

What we love most

You can venture to downtown Austin on the resorts water taxi! So, you really can have it ALL. Even though, you probably won’t want to leave 😉
