St. Barths, officially known as Saint Barthélemy, is a small island in the heart of the Caribbean. For those seeking seclusion, Colombier Beach, accessible only by boat or a hike, provides a tranquil escape (PS it’s a great 2.5 mile hike right from Cheval Blanc!). And let's not forget St. Jean Beach, a lively spot where you can watch planes land at the nearby airport while sipping a cocktail at one of the beachfront bars.
Harder to come across in the Caribbean is luxury shopping - but St. Barths is a dream destination. Gustavia, the island's capital, is a shopper's paradise with its chic boutiques and designer stores. From high-end fashion (think Gucci, Louis Vitton, Hermes) and jewelry to unique local crafts, you'll find a wide array of treasures to take home. The island's duty-free status makes luxury shopping even more appealing.

The Suites
Cheval Blanc St-Barths boasts 61 beautifully appointed rooms, suites, and villas, each designed with a keen eye for detail and a touch of understated elegance. The accommodations feature contemporary décor with a nod to the island’s vibrant culture, incorporating locally sourced materials and artworks. Guests can enjoy modern amenities, spacious living areas, and private terraces or balconies offering stunning ocean or garden views.
For honeymooners and couples, we love the beach suites. Each features a private pool, direct access to the beach, freestanding tub, and romantic terrace. We also love the Garden Bungalows, which are hidden among the lush hillside.
For families and groups of friends, we love the 2-bedroom suites. The beach suites feature a private pool, but the 2-bedroom Ocean and Garden Suites have impeccable charm and perfect common spaces for everyone to be together (but with plenty of space of their own, too!).
The Cuisine
Culinary excellence is at the heart of Cheval Blanc St-Barths. The resort’s signature restaurant, La Case, helmed by Chef Jean Imbert, offers a culinary journey that celebrates the flavors of the Caribbean with a French twist. Using the finest local ingredients, each dish is a work of art, meticulously crafted to delight the palate.
Through extensive travels in the Caribbean, I’ve found that food is a toss-up on each island. In St. Barths, there is a plethora of phenomenal food – something you would find in a major European or US city. If food is important to a travel experience, St. Barths will be our top Caribbean recommendation. That’s not to say good food doesn’t exist on other islands, but St. Barths does stand above the rest.
For a more casual dining experience, La Cabane provides a beachfront setting where you can savor delectable dishes with your feet in the sand. 10/10 recommend the smash burger!
Our Favorite Major Details
We always say that luxury is in the details. Cheval Blanc absolutely proves that point. What sets Cheval Blanc apart from the rest is their meticulous attention to even the smallest aspects of a stay. We began calling the staff “magical fairies” as they would sneak into our rooms during the day and Some of my favorite tiny details:
Pillow spray on the bed during turndown
A special bookmark added to my book
Makeup laid out perfectly on a towel
Sunglasses left cleaned and with a branded cleaning cloth
Charging cords wrapped perfectly and orderly
A bath drawn after returning from dinner on the beach
Printed polaroids of our group left by the bed on the last night
