China features a lot of “tallest”, “largest”, “highest”, “biggest”, _______ in the world. In fact, China is known for being the Guinness World Records’ fastest growing market. The Ritz Carlton Hong Kong keeps in trend with being the highest hotel in the world! It features 312 guest rooms, all with amazing views of the city. Hong Kong has no shortage of luxury hotel brands (9 Virtuoso properties to be exact) from Four Seasons to Rosewood to Mandarin Oriental, but I truly think the Ritz Carlton Hong Kong is the place to be.
When you first enter the hotel, you are whisked up to the lobby on the 102 floor. At check-in, we received an upgraded room and were super excited! They hyped up our view big time. We entered our room, anxious to see the view, and alas we were in the clouds. That is how high the hotel is! We caught glimpses of the view throughout the weekend, but on our last day when the clouds cleared, our view was truly spectacular.
Before dinner, we headed to Ozone, the rooftop bar. It is praised as one of the tallest rooftop bars in the world and features a DJ with a backdrop of the Hong Kong Skyline. What more could you want? The drinks here are quite inventive. I ordered the Dragon’s Back, a mix of vodka, raspberry, elderflower, lime, basil and Yuzu foam. I had my hesitations about the Ozone Signature – Zacapa, absinth, Imperial Olong Syrup, pink grapefruit, lime, Dom Perignon Foam, Chocolate stones and Lavender Smoke. Some things I am just not brave enough to try!
Perhaps my favorite feature of the Ritz Carlton Hong Kong is the rooftop pool. There is a large indoor infinity pool with floor to ceiling glass windows to showcase views of Hong Kong. There is also cold pool, hot tub, and hot tub outside if you’re feeling adventurous. Naturally, I tried every pool. I probably swam in the 4 highest pools in the world, but I couldn’t find any info to back up that assumption. I’ll play along with it. There is also a large TV screen next to the pool that plays movies while you swim. It’s the little things.
