Have you seen the movie Crazy Rich Asians? It’s my latest obsession. The movie is based on a best-selling book that chronicles the life of crazy rich families in Singapore. The movie is opulence at it’s finest. We’re talking bachelor parties on a barge and a large wedding involving seating among grass. Not only does the movie contain shots of crazy wealth, but it also features some amazing scenes from Singapore as a destination. You can take on Singapore just like the cast with this Crazy Rich Asians itinerary.
Marina Bay Sands
This Singapore staple hotel is often referred to as the “surfboard hotel” because of it’s surfboard like structure that brings the three buildings together. It is used as the backdrop for many scenes in the movie. Fun fact: the surfboard is a rooftop pool with sweeping views of Singapore!
Raffles Hotel
This 5-star luxury hotel serves as the location where Nick and Rachel stay while in Singapore. The hotel is under renovation until mid-2019, so you might notice some changes if you decide to pay a visit.
Gardens by the Bay
These man-made gardens serve as the location for the Crazy Rich Asians wedding. The gardens feature 165 foot tall, multicolor trees that provide a romantic overhang in the middle of a busy city.
Sentosa Island
When Collin and Nick ditch the barge bachelor party, they head to an island paradise. It’s not technically in Singapore, but it’s not hard to get to from Singapore. It’s a dreamy destination with beaches and lots of aquatic activities.
Chinatown
Rachel and her friend Peik Lin (Asian Ellen) spend many a moment in Chinatown having comical heart to hearts. One of these took place on the porch at the Humpback restaurant. It serves up fresh oysters and seafood in a fun location.
