Honeymoon Planning Checklist

Your honeymoon should be the trip of a lifetime! It might be the first time you and your new spouse have traveled together. It might be the first time you adventure out of the country. And let’s be honest, you have quite a few expectations for what your honeymoon should look like. All personal bias aside, you should be using a travel advisor for your honeymoon because they can truly take away the planning pressure and score you some amazing perks. Stepping off my soapbox now. Often the hardest part of the planning process is knowing where to start. Here’s your go-to honeymoon planning checklist, along with a printable, pinterestable, instagrammable graphic to keep you on your game.


6-12 Months Before Honeymoon

Set a budget (we recommend anywhere from $2,500 and above)

Create your wishlist

Contact ME, your travel advisor

Book your honeymoon package (this typically requires a $100 deposit)


3-5 Months Before Honeymoon 

Apply for or renew your passport

Book tours and spa appointments (this is where I get to arrange some fun surprises for you too!)

Secure necessary travel visas


2 Months Before Honeymoon

Final payment due

Purchase travel insurance

Get required vaccinations or medical exams


1 Month Before Honeymoon

Travel documents arrive

Download travel apps (we use a special app for your itinerary so that it’s all on your phone)

Book dinner reservations

Book last minute tours


2 Weeks Before Honeymoon

Plan your attire

Add international plans to your mobile phone

Notify your credit cards

Get cash in case of emergency

Check the weather

Set your out of office


1-2 Days Before Honeymoon

Finish packing and gather travel docs

Check-into your flights online

Set thermostats and light timers in your house
